Making a difference...

Friends of Pets depends on volunteer effort and community support.
Volunteers are needed in areas ranging from pet care to administrative tasks
to cookie sales! (We're sure to have a job that suits your interest.)
Donors in the Friends of Pets Family make a financial commitment
to support our advocacy efforts for unwanted and abandoned animals
in our community. Join us!

Our most recent television PSA
is "Commitment," a lighthearted
look at the true meaning of love
that lasts a lifetime. You might
recognize yourself and your
furry "life partner" here! Thanks
to our friends at SprocketHeads
for another great production!

FOP's award-winning "Hero" PSA
was our gift to the community after
the 9/11 tragedy, saluting animals
who served us at Ground Zero and
at home as we cope with a changed
world. It was produced for us by
SprocketHeads, with footage also
provided by CNN and FEMA.

stories to inspire

Often a homeless animal’s
future depends on just one
person who cares enough
to take action. Whether or
not we succeed, what we
learn about ourselves in
the process can leave an
indelible mark.

Gem and Link's desperate need

Nari's traffic stop
gave Kari Campbell a reunion to remember!

Volunteer
Opportunities

Information Center Phone Volunteers
Here's a great job you can do from home. Our volunteers relay messages and help callers with info and assistance. We train you and provide the tools you need to be part of our lifeline to the community.

Adoption Application Taker
Return calls to prospective adopters and help them complete adoption applications over the phone. This can be done from home, but a fax machine or email address is necessary.

Event Captain
Event Captains are responsible for setting up and breaking down the FOP booth at various events. Meet your fellow volunteers and the public! Requires reliable transportation and the ability to lift boxes up to 40 lbs.

Education Volunteer
Visit schools and other sites to speak to young people about responsible pet ownership. Great opportunity for those with teaching experience or who enjoy working with kids.

Foster Home
Loving homes are urgently needed to temporarily care for dogs and cats awaiting adoption. The decision on whether or not we can rescue an animal often depends on whether there is a foster to receive it.

Dog Walker
Shake a leg!  Our dogs in boarding care need walks and playtime and hugs.  (They give as good as they get!)  You'll both get a breath of fresh air.

There's lots more to do!
Contact our Volunteer Coordinator
at (907) 566-7284 or by email

or send us your volunteer application today!
