Yogi
Labrador
Retriever mix male, chocolate, 3 years.
He is sweet and would love someone who can make a commitment to training
and lots of exercise! Yogi is very active and needs an
owner who loves to run or ski.
Another dog to romp with would be very helpful. We've learned that Yogi
had some allergies which were impacting his behavior, so now that he's on
the right food, he feels better which shows in his improved manners and
social skills. |

Sheila
Here's why I'm special...
Dalmatian
female, liver and white, 8+ years old. She
came to us from Animal Care & Control as a spayed female who had been
previously debarked. She has a seizure disorder controlled by medication.
She is not respectful of cats, and would probably prefer to be the only
dog. She loves to go for car rides and walks but is also happy to cuddle.
She would love an owner who appreciates the breed and can give her a
retirement home. Photo by

Krystal
Weimaraner female, 4+ years. Krystal is still looking for her perfect
home. She has come back to us from trial adoptions because
of her need of regular and vigorous exercise. She needs to be an only dog,
in an active household with adults only or with older kids. A fenced yard would help her to have a place to run as well.
Her skills as a running partner are praised, but she also loves to cuddle on the couch and watch TV and is great in the car.
We know there is a perfect home out there for her! Photo by

Quill
& Scout - Meet
us and read our story!!!
Rottweiler / Labrador Retriever mix females. These two girls have had
quite an adventure! Abandoned in the Bear Valley area with a sibling, they
caught the eye of local residents who spent weeks working to build their
trust to catch them. Dr. Del Seeba and his fantastic team at Diamond
Animal Hospital assisted to remove porcupine quills, provide health
assessment and interventions, spay and vaccinate, and work with the girls
on confidence and trust building. They get along so well that we would
like to find them a permanent home together, so that their shared story
doesn't have to come to an end. Photo by

Daisy
Mixed breed female, black, 6-7 years old. This cutie has some dachshund
traits but is around 25 lbs. She loves to go for walks and for rides in
the car. She would be best matched in a home with a securely fenced yard. Photo by

Josie
Beagle mix female, gold and white. She was an unclaimed stray at Anchorage
Animal Care & Control. She needed eye surgery and has recovered well.
She's on a diet and exercise plan to drop a few pounds, but her overall
health is good. Photo by

Jax
Here's why I'm special... Jack
Russell Terrier mix male, white and brown. Jax is blind, probably from
birth. He is a very social dog with people but would probably prefer being
the only dog. He is typical JRT, very focused on toys and play! Once he is
aware of his surroundings he navigates very well. Photo by

Zoe
and Taja
Here's why we're special... Two females, senior, who were abandoned at Animal Care & Control
together. Cute as can be! We have a soft spot for "experienced" dogs who have so
much more love to give. Both girls have had their teeth cleaned and are
ready for a home where they can cuddle and go for gentle walks.UPDATE: Zoe
and Taja were returned due to a family emergency. Their recent adopter
describes these two cuties as adorable and sweet. They get along well with
cats too! Photo by

Lily,
Rubert & YumYum
Here's why we're special... Shih
Tzu mixes, seniors. These three cuties came to us due to a death in their
family. Lily and YumYum have just had their teeth cleaned. Rubert is the
smallest and Lily is the biggest. They have lived together for years, and
our dream would be to find a home that could love them all. Knowing that
may not be the case, each would do best in an adults-only home where they
could be pampered and loved in their senior years.

Pepper
Whippet/Miniature Pinscher mix female, 4 years old. This sweet girl does
well with other dogs, cats and kids. She can be a fence jumper, so a
5-foot fenced yard is preferred. Her previous owner left her at Animal
Care & Control so she would love a second chance at a lifetime home.

Sachi
-
I'm trying out a new home - wish me luck!
Gordon Setter mix female, 4 years old, 49 lbs. She is very energetic and
people-friendly, and also a good sniffer! She would be best matched to a
busy home with lots of interaction and stimulation.

Rocky
- I've
been adopted!
Here's why I'm special... Brown
and cream husky mix male. This gentle senior male was released to Animal
Care & Control when his owner passed away. He gets along well with
other dogs and has a respect for cats. He enjoys gentle walks and napping
at your feet. He is healthy and just had his teeth cleaned. Photo by
Alaska Pet-ography.

Squirt
- I've
been adopted!
Pug male mix, fawn. He's got a face no one can resist! He came through
Animal Care & Control as an unclaimed stray, so we don't know his
story, but know he's ready for the next chapter in his life! Photo by
Alaska Pet-ography.

In memory of...

 |
Brady -
I've gone ahead to the Rainbow Bridge...
Cocker
Spaniel senior male. Our
sweet friend Brady was diagnosed with a prolapsed colon. Due to his age
and the severity of his condition, surgery was not recommended, and we
sent him to his final home with God. Photo by
